Stick Figures

Materials:
Colored or plain popsicle sticks

Directions:
Distribute about a dozen of popsicle sticks to each child.
Have the children arrange the popsicle sticks in interesting patterns on a sheet of paper.

Variations:
Popsicle sticks may be changed to toothpicks.

Skill:
Develop fine motor coordination.

Activity: Listen, Listen, Listen

This activity that I will present today is very easy to achieve. It also exercises the auditory senses of the learners, not to mention fun as well.

Listen, Listen, Listen

Directions:

Teacher recites the rhyme. Let the children answer by producing the animal sound.

I went for a walk to school one day,
I saw a goat and what did it say?
(Children answer mee-e-e)

I went for a walk to school one day,
I saw a dog and what did it say?
(Children answer)

I went for a walk to school one day,
I saw a cow and what did it say?

Variation:

Change the question to:
"What do I hear?" (bell, telephone, drum)

Example:
I went to school one day,
I saw a bell and what did I hear?

Skill:
Identify sounds produced by different animals in the environment.

The Waltz Verdict

Today was the day where the kids presented their waltz dance and what's good about the kindergarten class is that they are not expected to be perfect with their performance. However, we wowed the audience with the kids' introduction where they bowed on stage one by one to the tune of A Whole New World. It was an okay presentation. I said "okay" because they could have done better and there were so many people taking pictures which distracted the kids from dancing because they have to smile hahaha! We all had fun and are so tired that we all left the school early. Here's a picture of some of my pupils while they're waiting for their dance number.
